The tragedy that struck Southgate, Kentucky in May of 1977 had far reaching effects. The Beverly Hills Supper Club drew patrons from all across the states of Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana, and beyond. Many people who weren't there or who didn't know anyone directly impacted by the events of that night, feel a connection nonetheless. There are some who were children when it occurred but who remember it happening. Some lived nearby in surrounding neighborhoods, others may 'know someone who knows someone.' Regardless of the reasons, there is a community of folks who carry this event in their hearts, who wish to offer whatever they can to preserving the memories of those lost or the historical significance of the tragedy. This page offers those people a voice and an opportunity to connect with others who feel the same. It also has links to photos and information from past Anniversary meetings which occur almost yearly at the BHSC site. Comments and conversations are welcome (please note that this is not a space to exploit the event or dwell on the macabre. Please be respectful and conscientious of other visitors which include families/friends of victims).

  1. I remember the night well. I may have been almost seven but that night remains vivid in my mind. My father took us out that night to a park and we could see the flame above some trees. I know that a school mate lost his mother in that fire. I can only imagine the nightmare that so many people went through on that night in May of 78. So many lives lost and so many loved ones and friends impacted by the tragedy. I can only fathom the emotions involved in the investigation and the fact that historians and eyewitnesses have shown this was arson. I believe the victims and family of victims need a proper Memorial. I want to help. I want to do something to see that family, friends and victims have somewhere to grieve or somewhere to fondly remember their loved ones. The last I saw of the site...there was a no trespassing sign and you were not suppose to go up there. I know flowers and notes have been placed by the gravel driveway that leads up to the tragic site. What else can we do? I want to help.
